DEALING WITH DISGRUNTLEMENT
|
Reflect: I thought I had made up ‘disgruntlement’ but I find you can Google it fruitfully. It’s all around us, but this passage tells us how to dismantle, dismember and generally diss disgruntlement: 1 Prayer and trust in God (v1-2) 2 Don’t join the rebels (v3) 3 Know the talk (v4) 4 Walk the talk (v5) 5 Pester God politely (v6) 6 Be glad that God is a lot better than you were as a child (v7) 7 God is OK with sinners, he’s used to them (v8) Or in a couple of words, live thankfully.
Pray: Lord, may thankful living chase out every kind of disgruntlement – From the workplaces I know; from the schools and colleges I know; from the homes I know; and from my own heart, through the power of your Spirit, Amen. |
